Shift Gallery, London, 2012

Set within a council estate in Mile End, Shift Gallery utilised a Bows Art live/work unit. The building is now ready for demolition to make way for mixed tenure housing association. TO WHAT END questioned the hierarchy of dwellings. The interior referenced the boarded up language of the estate, set in opposition to the language of classical architecture and listed interiors.
